About the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Celebrating the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we recall the great importance of the basic document of the state for every citizen of the country. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we do not pay attention to the rights and duties of each of us, prescribed in the Constitution. From the very first paragraph, the main Law of the state not only regulates the life of society, but also provides answers to all the current challenges of modern reality.
Of course, the basic law reflects all aspects of the country's existence. Speaking about the Constitution of Kazakhstan today, I would like to focus on those postulates that, in my opinion, are particularly important to me in this segment of life circumstances.
Today's society, both Kazakh and global, is going through difficult times. The time when an attack on minds is conducted from popular social networks, from virtual space, creates the ground for various kinds of ideological undermining of stability and the desire to sway public opinion, leading away from constructive solutions to emerging problems. The various kinds of challenges that we are witnessing often seem insurmountable, making it necessary for each of us to properly assess them and thereby determine our position. The first article already contains a succinct formulation of what kind of state the Republic of Kazakhstan is and what is the highest value. Numerous disputes and opinions of various extremist ideologues cast doubt on this position. In the same article, we find an immutable basis for the implementation of the principle of democracy – "solving the most important issues of public life by democratic methods, including voting in a national referendum or in Parliament." "The only source of state power is the people."
Especially burning in modern conditions is the provision of the basic Law prohibiting "the creation and operation of public associations whose goals or actions are aimed at... incitement of social, racial, national, religious, class and clan discord..." (Article 5). Unfortunately, there are currently many pseudo - patriots who incite this kind of discord in society. Their goal is obvious – to split the multinational people of Kazakhstan.
As a linguist teacher, I can't help but focus on Article 7 once again. In my opinion, the legal functioning of languages in our country, regulated by the country's Constitution, is a response to the attacks of various kinds of nationalists, whose purpose is to promote ethnic hatred. Suppressing nationalist statements, every socially active citizen should refer to Article 7: the official language is Kazakh; the Russian language functions on an equal basis with Kazakh; "the state takes care of creating conditions for the study and development of the languages of the people of Kazakhstan."
On August 30 of each year, every socially active citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan feels the need to once again refer to the letter of the Constitution and assess the importance of the existence of the legal foundations of the life of the state. What we take for granted today is actually the achievement of many generations of the Kazakh people. The task of the current generation is to preserve and pass on to the descendants all the most progressive achievements of their predecessors.
