The theme of the lesson: “How is the weather like in…?”

The objectives:
- to enrich the pupils’ vocabulary notes on the theme “Weather”;
- to develop the pupils’ speaking and writing skills;
- to teach them to love their country and its nature.

By the way what do you know about this construction?

- What seasons do you know in the year?
- There are winter, spring, autumn, and summer.

- Yes, I like spring.
T: Do you know any poems about seasons? Will you tell us?

T: I like spring. It’s my favourite season. And what season do you like?
P1: I like spring, because it is warm and beautiful.
P2: I like winter, because I can play snowballs.
P3: I like autumn, because there are many yellow, red, brown trees, much rain and many fruits.
P4: I like summer, because I can swim in the river and ride bikes.
P5: I like summer too, because we have a long holidays
P6: I like spring, because there are such flowers as: tulips, violets, snowdrops

Now, pupils, we read the text about an English girl Ann, who also likes to play different games and try to answer the question: «About seasons …»
“My name is Ann. My favourite season is autumn. The trees are brown, yellow and red. It’s foggy, rainy, wet and cloudy. Children go to school. We like to ride a bike on a warm autumn day.
It’s winter now. Children like to play snowballs. The houses and trees are white. I don’t like winter, because it’s cold and snowy.
Then spring comes. It’s warm and sunny. I like spring, because children play in the park. Birds comes. The trees are green.
Summer comes. We swim in the river. It’s bright, funny and hot. We listen to music, play computer games, read books or watch TV. I like to draw pictures.”

1) You’ve listened to the text and now be ready to do the following task. Say true or false.
1. Ann likes autumn very much.

2) Now, please, Fill in the gaps:

№1 The weather is fine. The children go to the yard and play in the street. The trees, forests, field are green. The birds come back. There are many flowers in the street.

№3 This kind of season is full of vegetables and fruits. The months are September, October and November. The weather is rainy, cloudy. The trees are yellow, brown and red.
