Friendship Ogden NashTo keep your friendship brimming.
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you’re wrong, admit it.
Whenever you’re right, shut up.
Many men, many minds. All people are different. In a nation of many millions of people, there are different kinds: good and bad, honest and dishonest, happy and unhappy. At the beginning of my essay I would like to tell a few words about my hometown. My native town is Uralsk. It is an administrative centre of West Kazakhstan Oblast and is located in north - west of Republic of Kazakhstan. It represents almost 100 different nationalities. Some centuries ago on the peace of nowadays world here were first settlements and ruins of ancient nomads. Though it’s difficult talk about the past, we have to do it in order to find the solutions of nowadays problems. We know that everybody lives, in his own world and doesn’t want to be interrupted by someone and something else. We learn to be men, to speak, to love and during many centuries we tried to live in peace in spite of the life difficulties. The Earth is our home and we must take care of it, for ourselves and for the generations to come. We know that each of us has his own viewpoint on his life and future. People of different in nations live in a peace and agreement in one world. As an example I would like to tell in brief about my country.
Today the Republic of Kazakhstan is a symbol of friendship between people of different nationalities. The coat of arms of Kazakhstan shows 2 hands shaking each other in demonstration of friendship and unity.
2. I would like to discuss the conflicts of the modern world and the consequences of the competitive society and in the beginning I’d like to remember Kane’s words: He, who commands the past, controls the future. He, who controls the future, conquers the past. Living in a competitive society is the main conflicts of the modern society. Because this is the thing we face in everyday life and always ask one question ourselves: “Why have we created the world full of troubles and problems whereas we ourselves live in it?” This sounds really paradoxical but it is true. E. g. the taxes in our country bring so many troubles to people who want to start their own business that they simply have to find ways not to pay them. Thousands of examples all over the world can be given here but the idea is that, understanding all this, we do not try even to improve anything. On the other hand competitive life exists even at school where pupils are are to participate in a so - called “racing game” which is based on gaining better marks and results in everything. This ides isn’t new, different people at different. Once he said: “I have a dream that my 4 little children will one day live in a nation where they won’t be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character…”He dedicated his life to the struggle for racial equality and democracy, for social economic justice. And John Brown was hanged, but very soon he became a hero to the Negro slaves and to the whites who were against slavery. In this part of my essay, I would like to discuss the problems of crime and criminal deeds. This question is important today as never before. Furthermore, this is the most vital problem and therefore it is worth discussing Crime is a problem in most countries. Here is a list of all - the murderers, who kill people (businessman, policeman, politics and so on). Rapists rape young women and sometimes even children. Drug dealers and drug pushers are involved in drug trade. Terrorists commit an act terrorism (bombing, murder, kidnapping). Some criminals are specialized on kidnapping rich businessman and demanding money for them. Big cities are full of thieves, who commit robberies, stealing jewelries from the stores and robbing the banks. There are also so many so - called hidden thieves. They the money from the people with the lie. Which crimes deserve which punishments? It’s a hard to say whether or not the death sentence is the right punishment murderers, rapists and car thieves. Different country’ laws have different punishment for the same crime. For example, in 1983 in Peking 30 criminals were sentenced to death at mass rally attended by thousands of cheering spectators and executed after that. The executions were part of a law - and - order campaign launched about 10 days ago. It was the largest group to be executed in Peking for several years. A notice posted at the Peking intermediate court, which imposed the death sentences, said that the 30 executed criminals included 19 accused of murder, 10 rapists and one car thief. One woman was among those executed. None was older that 35.
In our country the crime usually pays. What crime is ever done it pays greatly, because there is not enough power of the government and the police to stop the development of criminal deeds. That is why you are “allowed” to do everything you like. Famous politicians and businessmen were insolently assassinated and the customers of these criminal affairs are somewhere now enjoying their freedom and are sure in the idea that the crime pays. I believe that for honest religious and law respecting people, it is out of the question that crime doesn’t pay, because they all know that if you commit a criminal deed you’ll be punished by the God, or by your own conscience nevertheless, in our society some people have forgotten about justice and law. They hardly understand their role in the life, think that all the life is based around them and the others can be ignored or terminated. Such ideas are like parasites distributing among others and infecting them. Finally, I suppose have Concluded that there are 2 main points of view on this question. Crime doesn’t pay or it pays. I tend to think that crime doesn’t pay, because if commit a crime (I wish I never did) I’ll suffer for all my life, go to police and tell everything.
